Rock Island Boulevard is a very interesting street in my hometown of Enid, Oklahoma. It is not only one of a few diagonal streets in a part of town that adheres to the traditional grid system, but also is home to several bars of the adult entertainment persuasion.
Last summer, as my wife and I were driving back into town from a graveside service, we took a turn on to this illustrious strip of asphalt. In desperate need of a laugh we encountered this sign.
It did not and does not disappoint. Unfortunately, we did not have our camera with us at the time and had to wait until our Christmas return to capture this excellent speciman of cryptic signage. I mean, what is "Adult" entertainment?
But wait. It gets better. Just below this, a second sign reads:
What on earth is the owner of this establishment trying to tell us? What is meant by "WOMEN" and "BEER?" Pick any noun to replace the ones in quotes. Go ahead. It all comes out funny.
Personally, I like to think it's a church in disguise. The "WOMEN" (read: Fiery Depths of Hell) are hot. The "BEER" (read: Blood of Christ) is not.
Either way, there's going to be much wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Enjoy.

I've had red beer in Enid several times, but never blood of christ beer.
