This morning, I was devising a new ending for an animated short which has been in the works for awhile. The new finale involves a rooster doing what roosters do. As I was writing down the description of the scene this morning I started writing, "The rooster... the rooster... calls out?" That didn't sound right.
What do roosters do?
Now I'm a guy who has been to college and stuff, so you wouldn't think I would need to consult my See & Say to remember what it is a rooster does. Finally, it came to me. "The rooster
crows." Ah yes. Curse my aged mind. No wonder I was confused. I can only assume that the logical portion of my brain was asking the creative side: How is it that a rooster can crow, but a crow can't rooster?
