Smurfsession

So my current obsession with Smurfs isn't getting any better.

It has led me to find this:This is exactly how I want to go...

The Day in Haiku

1.
Bus is late again
Think I'll purchase a coffee
What a simple treat

2.
Dunkin Donuts cup
Hitting the ground near my feet
Two dollars wasted

3.
RAM testing cartoons
Waiting for a good result
Hope it doesn't suck

4.
Supply Cabinet
Brings so many visitors
Trendy office spot

5.
Listening to Bach
Listening to Howlin' Wolf
Not at the same time

6.
Computer slows down
The fan kicks into high gear
Please God, don't crash now

7.
Emailing Emails
Made up noun becomes a verb
Information age

8.
That's So Raven is
The lamest show on t.v.
Why do people watch?

9.
The lunch room smells bad
Smells like someone cooked dookie
Damned dookie eater

10.
Hot water restored
Now I won't have to walk far
For water for tea

11.
Last haiku was bad
Should have given it more thought
This one seems alright

12.
Zits are like people
When one leaves this world of ours
Another is born

13.
Restarted software
Thought my 3-D model broke
Just needed to purge

14.
Shutting down the Mac
Could give me a heart attack
Should files not come back

15.
Several people
Walking on the street at night
Steering clear of ice

Super Tuesday

That's right America. It's time to get worried and get voting.

Ahhh.... there's nothing better than slogging through the Chicago slushy rain to exercise the right to choose a contender for the upcoming presidential election. I'll say it again--

Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

This time around, since I like to try new gadgets, I used the touch screen voting system. It seemed easy enough and I'm sure my vote has just as much of a chance of being hijacked as a paper ballot.

However... something was missing. In my head, I knew casting my vote via pixels was no mere virtual experience. It was the real deal, but it lacked that tangible quality which a physical ballot retains. When you know that a tree has died for your country it somehow makes the vote that much more significant. Plus I was voting for Obama. Being this close to Valentine's day, it felt like I was sending him an e-card instead of one of those spiffy Hallmark cards which opens up and sings, "HEY!!! I feeeeel good!"

So... I started thinking (which never turns out well). I'll continue this virtual trend and send him a valentine via this powerful electronic media device we call the INTERNET!

Here's a little poem for Barack:

Barack, you make Tuesday super.
Without you, Tuesday's in the pooper.

Hmmm...
I realized I'm gonna have to stop there or any amount of class I hope to retain will soon be in shreds.

Until next time, America.

I don't know why I bothered drawing these guys with newspapers. Seriously, I don't know anyone who reads a newspaper anymore.

This blog was broadcast in Times New Roman font to make it more newsy looking-- y'know... official and stuff.

Mortimer Toome

Yet another character for another story which is percolating in my pot-- hmm... an apt metaphor though sounding a bit unsavory.

Oh well. More on this guy another time.

Enjoy.

Doin' It For The Money

Okay. I might be a bit late to the party on this one, but I think it's hilarious and have to share it all the same. I'm quite a fan of artistic meltdowns of any kind. Perhaps I can relate-- perhaps not. All I know is that anyone who works in the creative biz, at some point, questions what he/she is doing and whether or not it is worth the meager amount of pay. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Apparently, for Orson Wells, hawking frozen peas fell under the "not worth it" category.

Big thanks to Joe for pointing this gem out to me. This and the dog riding monkey. Enjoy.
